H. Hunter Greene, III. Witty and accomplished executive editor of the Harvard Gazette, the university’s in-house newspaper. From an old Boston family featuring Harvard grads back to the eighteenth century, he’s thoroughly familiar with his setting but seems to be a magnet for unlikely adventure that can come from any quarter.
Hugo Powell, brilliant jack-of-all-trades engineer at MIT, currently working for the top secret Interdepartmental Office as designer and troubleshooter. A pal of Hunter’s for fifteen years, they played in the same rock band. This time, it’s high-tech helicopters.
Tara Chapin-Gold, widowed in the first paragraph, professor, dedicated scholar, true friend and spiritual guide of Hunter’s. Mother of Abie and Sofi, she’s known Hunter a long time, and their lives will continue to entwine.
